Allan McGregor Retires from International Football

Rangers Goalkeeper Ends Scotland Career

Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor has today announced his retirement from international football. The 40-year-old Rangers goalkeeper made the decision after a late call-up for Steve Clarke's side for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Armenia and Ukraine. McGregor has won 47 caps for Scotland since making his debut in 2004.

McGregor Reflects on International Career

In a statement released by the Scottish Football Association, McGregor said: "It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to retire from international football. I have always been incredibly proud to represent my country, and it has been an honor to play alongside such a talented group of players.

McGregor thanked his teammates, coaches, and the fans for their support throughout his international career. He also wished the Scotland team all the best for the future.

Rangers Career Uncertain

With his international career now behind him, McGregor's focus will turn to his future at Rangers. The goalkeeper, who joined Rangers in 2022, has yet to decide whether he will stay at Ibrox beyond this season.

Rangers manager Michael Beale has said that he would like McGregor to remain at the club, but the goalkeeper has made it clear that he will take his time to make a decision about his future.

McGregor, who has won 15 major trophies during his career, will be a free agent in the summer of 2023. It remains to be seen whether he will sign a new contract with Rangers or move to another club.
