Historic win sees Young Lions move top of Group G

Jonathan Rowe scores four as England run riot in Chesterfield

England U21s enjoyed a historic night in Chesterfield on Tuesday as they thrashed Serbia U21s 9-1 in their Euro 2025 qualifying match.

The Young Lions were in stunning form from the off, with Jonathan Rowe opening the scoring after just three minutes. Rowe added two more before half-time, with Liam Delap and Harvey Elliott also on target.

England continued to dominate after the break, with Rowe completing his four-goal haul before substitutes Fabio Carvalho and Emile Smith Rowe added further goals. Sasa Lukic pulled one back for Serbia, but it was merely a consolation as England secured a famous victory.

The win moves England top of Group G, with three wins from their opening three matches. They will now face Switzerland in their next qualifier on 12 October.
