Oilers Look to Tie Series After Panthers Take 2-0 Lead
The Edmonton Oilers will host the Florida Panthers in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday night at Rogers Place. The Panthers currently hold a 2-0 lead in the series after winning both games in Florida.
Panthers Dominate Oilers in Game 2
In Game 2 on Monday night, the Panthers dominated the Oilers, winning 4-1. Evan Rodrigues scored the game-winning goal in the third period to break a 1-1 tie. Carter Verhaeghe and Aleksander Barkov also scored for the Panthers, while Connor McDavid scored the lone goal for the Oilers.
Bobrovsky Shines in Net for Panthers
Sergei Bobrovsky was outstanding in net for the Panthers, stopping 35 of 36 shots. McDavid's goal was the only one he allowed all night. Mikko Koskinen started in net for the Oilers and allowed three goals on 30 shots before being replaced by Stuart Skinner, who allowed one goal on 10 shots.
Oilers Hope to Get Back in Series
The Oilers will need to find a way to get back in the series on Thursday night. They will need to be better defensively and find a way to generate more offense against Bobrovsky. McDavid will need to be a key contributor for the Oilers, as he is their leading scorer in the playoffs.
